To further strengthen the safety culture and secure a positive behavioural change within the workplace, SEIL has implemented and integrated Behaviour-Based Safety (BBS) into its safety systems across all assets.
SEIL believes that most safety incidents are caused by unsafe behaviour. Hence, it has a target to reduce Unsafe behaviour in increments. ISO 45001:2018 mandates that human competence and behavioural elements need to be considered in risk assessment and as an internal issue for managing risks.
A BBS steering committee led by the CEO, O&M Head, Senior HODs, and Safety Heads guides and monitors the implementation of the BBS implementation action plan at SEIL.
As part of BBS, unsafe behaviour is spotted and corrected there and then. Both safe and at-risk behaviours are being tracked, analysed, and displayed.
